Year 3Middle School Professional Learning Community
We will support the mission of Pakenham Springs Primary School through a collaborative approach to developing an inspiring, motivating and educational program. We will focus our efforts with the best of intentions for all students to achieve successful outcomes with a positive mindset. We will target the individual learning needs of our students through a focus on data and effective practice.
In 2018, I am excited to create and maintain a positive learning environment where students feel motivated and inspired to become life-long learners. In M19 students will be encouraged to take risks in their learning and embrace challenges, whilst sharing their learning with others and working collaboratively. I look forward to celebrating successes with students and their families.
I am excited to build relationships with the students in M22 and provide a safe and supportive learning environment. I will support and challenge the students and celebrate their accomplishments. The students will be encouraged to develop their growth mindsets and tackle any challenges head on.
In my classroom, I’ll demonstrate the importance of changing mindsets so that students can learn as best they can, both inside and outside of the classroom. The students will also be taught the importance of understanding how their brain functions, to help them improve their self-control and strengthen their resiliency and decision making ability.
In 2018, I place an emphasis on connecting with and building relationships with our students and their families. I work collaboratively with a team of enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated colleagues to learn, share and discuss effective teacher practice, ensuring I provide the best opportunities for all of our students to succeed. I strongly believe that both teacher and student reflection and feedback will educate, motivate and inspire my students to take responsibility for their learning and to develop and nurture a growth mindset as they flourish into respectful and informed citizens of our local and global community.
In 2018, I look forward to working with the Year 3 team, students and families to ensure all students are inspired, motivated and engaged by the learning. I will work closely with my teaching partner Jackie Pope to ensure we have a strong communication process and in turn improve student learning with having a common understanding and approach.
